Welcome to Lower. We are so excited to have you join the team! I've included some information below for you to prepare for your first day. Please let us know if you have any questions during the process.

Before Your Start Date

Registration Through Workday

You will receive two emails to your personal email address from Workday that includes login information to access your Workday account. This will be necessary to complete your onboarding paperwork. One email will contain your username and the other will contain a one-time link to create your password.

Between now and your first day, you’ll receive emails from Lower Clickup with reminders for logging into Workday, your equipment shipping status, tracking numbers, etc.

IT Equipment

You will receive your company issued laptop a few days prior to your first day of work, typically on the Thursday before your start date. Please contact support@lower.com if you do not receive your laptop by the Friday before start-date. Please unpack, charge your laptop, and allow it to update as soon as you receive it. The updating of your laptop will take anywhere from 1-3 hours. Access your company issued computer by following the login steps. For security purposes, you may not be able to log into your laptop until you attend IT Orientation.

Social Media

We love to promote our team members on social media every chance we get. Please send bizdev@lower.com a headshot (professional but doesn’t have to be formal) before your first day so we can announce your arrival. Most employees like to use their LinkedIn photo for this.

First Day Schedule

Mandatory Orientation

All new employees are required to attend IT & HR Orientation on the first day of your employment.  Your attendance is mandatory, and failure to attend will result in cancelation of your on-boarding.  Please be on the lookout for orientation calendar invitations.  You will need  your laptop, cell phone, access to internet and login credentials.  Connect your laptop to the internet and allow the computer to update.  This will  need a minimum of 2 hours to perform this update so please plan accordingly.

IT Onboarding Meeting via TEAMS @ 9am-10:30am EST:
Meet with our IT team who will walk you through logging in and setting up your computer, reviewing our systems with you and ensuring that all technical questions are answered.

HR & Licensing Orientation Meeting via TEAMS @ 2:00-3:30pm EST: Meet with our HR team to review Workday, Benefits, Payroll, and Licensing.

Access Your Computer

Access your company issued computer and by following the login steps:

Enter Username: first initial+lastname@lower.com
Enter Password: Lower@2023!!

Due to Lower’s security protocol you will not be able to successfully login into your laptop until you attend IT Orientation.

Access Your Email

During your scheduled IT Orientation, you will be directed to open a web browser to mail.lower.com. You will use the following credentials when prompted:
Username:  first initial+lastname@lower.com
Password:  Lower@2023!!

By The End Of Your First Day

Onboarding Paperwork Through Workday

Once you’re logged in and are ready to access your onboarding items, you’ll select the Task Inbox icon that looks like this:
From here, you’ll complete the tasks in your Task Inbox including your personal information, emergency contacts, W-4 Tax Withholdings, direct deposit, and Benefits Enrollment. This will launch in 3 phases. We will go over these in your HR Orientation on your first day if you have any questions.

Upload I-9 Documentation

When completing your tasks in Workday you will be required to provide Government IDs to complete the I-9 form. Acceptable ID’s are either one item from list A (passport), or an item from list B (driver’s license) and an item from list C (birth certificate).  Please see the following website for a list of accepted documents to submit: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents

We have included some information to assist you in selecting your Lower benefits. Before you begin the benefits enrollment process, please review the Benefits Guide attached.

FAQ

When does your Benefit Enrollment period begin?  
New Hire Enrollment period will begin immediately after your start date.

How long is your Benefit Enrollment period open?  
You will have 30 days to complete your enrollment.

When does your coverage start?  
Your coverage will begin the first of the month following your date of hire.

How do I  enroll in benefits?
Please log in to Workday and click on “Benefits Change-Hire” in your Workday inbox to begin the enrollment process.

Can I change my selected benefits?
You will not be able to make changes to your benefits once your enrollment period has closed unless you have a qualifying life event.

What happens if I do not enroll?
If you do not enroll in benefits via Workday, you will automatically be defaulted to the following coverage:
• 401k; 3% pay deferral
• Basic Life and AD&D Coverage at a flat $50,000 at no cost to you.
